Preaching and Teaching Missions
Printable
Version
Since 1973, New Creation Teaching Ministry
has held preaching and teaching missions, at the invitation
of local churches and Christian communities, in every state
of Australia, conducted by teams of evangelists, pastors
and teachers, with musicians and other helpers.
The grace of God, centred on the Cross
of Christ, in the context of the 'whole counsel of God' from
the beginning to the end of the Scriptures, characterises
the preaching and teaching given through New Creation.
This is brought through prophetically to all who will hear,
as a life-giving and life-sustaining Word, by the activity
of the Spirit of God. People are brought to eternal life
through faith in Jesus Christ, and churches are renewed
in the truth and power of God's word.
'The primary purpose of the church is
to preach the gospel throughout the world and to bring
its saving power to persons outside the message of salvation
and the community of Christ. The primary resource is the
Word of redemption, the Word of God's love, and His grace
which brings guilty human beings into the peace of forgiveness
and justification. This Word makes them to be part of Christ's
community-the church. This is the community of love and
care, but its first care is that men and women and young
people should come into the peace of forgiveness. The rest
will follow.'
'The church has always been in the midst
of conflict because we are ever wrestling with principalities
and powers, we are ever fighting heresy, and are in the
battle for the souls of men and women. We must understand
the great verities of the forgiveness of sins, the cleansing
of them, the liberation from all forms of evil, the greatness
of grace to bring human beings into a wonderful freedom.
Above all we must understand the saving power of the Cross,
and what it is to come under Christ's Lordship in life,
as the battle goes on to make the kingdoms of this world
to become the kingdoms of our Lord and his Christ.'Preaching
and teaching missions can take any one of a variety of
forms:
Two weeks: a week of house
meetings followed by a week of community meetings
One week: combination of smaller
groups and larger meetings
Weekend: Friday night and/or
Saturday and Sunday morning, afternoon and/or evening(For
places closer to Adelaide)
Series of Sundays and/or series
of weekdays/nights
Each of these is intended to extend a
church or community beyond its normal meeting times. A
combination of local Christian churches and groups provides
the most effective setting for such a mission.
'There are so many subjects, aspects
and the like that we can proclaim, such as knowing God,
His love, His grace, His judgment, His salvation, human
sin, and lostness, the danger of death and hell, the Prodigal
and the Father, the joy of the forgiveness of sins, of
being justified, of the cleansing, the sonship, the warmth
of the Shepherd, Christ the life, the truth, the way, the
bread, the door; the Cross, the resurrection, the heavenly
home, safety, certainty, the hope of glory-and so on.' The
life of the church as the family of God, living in faith,
hope and love, in the Father, the Son and the Spirit, with
all the God-given gifts and ministries, can also be helpfully
propounded.New Creation also has a wide range of published
books, cassettes, CDs, music books and mp3 CDs, a Correspondence
Course, and a website, by which those with an awakened
hunger for the word of God can grow and mature.
